Konk Apparel is a high quality Caribbean lifestyle brand with designs and elements inspired by iconic symbols of the Turks and Caicos Islands. I have been working with Konk Apparel for some time to help capture moments which symbolize their motto of “believe in your brand”. I love the ideaology behind Konk’s brand image and I was so excited to style and creatively direct a number of shoots that speak to their identity. During this shoot I took the opportunity to stylize their newest sneakers and bum bag with two different models. As islanders we spend a lot of time on the beach but I wanted to capture something different with influences of street style. The results were epic, these are some of my favourite pictures in my entire portfolio!
I opted for sunset time so I could capture some pretty hues of pink and orange to compliment the shoes and fanny pack. The location for this shoot was actually a house I was house sitting for in the month of October. Such a beautiful spot right on the ocean with mangroves framing the shoreline. At the back of the house there was a fence marking the property and I took some inspiration to shoot through the fencing to add some texture to the portrait shots. For the second half of the shoot we went just outside on a quiet street. My male model Joey is an awesome board fanatic so I had him use his skateboard as a prop. I think it really added to the overall story of street wear in Turks and Caicos.
